Creative Problem Solving

Let’s be honest. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart!
When we first chose this path, we knew it wouldn’t be smooth sailing. We signed up for a journey filled with twists and turns, detours and dead ends, wins that make our hearts soar and setbacks that make us question everything. If you’ve ever had a moment where you wondered, “Why did I think I could do this?”—you’re not alone! We’ve all been there, plenty of times!
But here’s the beautiful part: we stay.

Even when it’s hard. Even when we’re tired.
Even when the doubts are loud.
We come back to our why.
For many of us, that why is freedom. Freedom to work in a way that honors our values. Freedom to spend more time with our families, to prioritize what matters most, to choose ourselves.
Flexibility is up there too. The ability to build a life where we’re not chained to someone else’s schedule or version of success. And of course, there’s the deep joy of doing something we love. Creating something from nothing. Making a difference.
But none of that means we’re immune to challenges.
Entrepreneurship is literally a masterclass in problem solving. From tech glitches to cash flow hiccups, client misunderstandings to marketing flops, it’s a constant dance of “What now?” And that’s where creative problem solving comes in.
Because problem solving, when done well, is not about pushing through in a panic. It’s not about rushing to fix something just to ease the discomfort. It’s about creating space.
Here’s something I’ve learned (the hard way):
You can’t access your problem-solving brain when you’re in emotional overdrive!
When we’re frustrated, overwhelmed, or doubting ourselves, we’re operating in survival mode. And survival mode is not where our most creative or strategic ideas live. That’s why one of the most underrated tools in your entrepreneurial toolkit is the ability to pause.
Step back.
Breathe.
Take a walk.
Sleep on it.
Phone a friend. And come back with rested eyes and a more grounded perspective.
You’ll often find that what felt like a mountain at 9 PM feels more like a molehill the next morning.
Here’s the magic: Most things are figuroutable! But they’re not always solvable in the heat of the moment, and that’s okay.
Creative problem solving means allowing for curiosity. It’s asking,“What’s another way to approach this?”
“Who can I reach out to for insight or support?”
“What’s the real issue under the surface here?”
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being present.
It’s not about knowing all the answers. It’s about being willing to explore new ones.
And maybe most importantly, it’s about leading from clarity, not fear.

So if you’re in a tough season, or navigating a challenge that feels bigger than you, I want you to know: You’ve got this. Not because you won’t face problems, but because you’re learning how to face them with creativity, intention, and community.
