Jessica is a professional speaker coach and the host of The Confidence and Communication Podcast. She has been recognized for her professional expertise as a recipient of the Manitoba 150 Women Trailblazer Award from the Nellie McClung Foundation for 2021, Ace Burpees Most Fascinating Manitobans for 2019, the 2017 Future Leaders of Manitoba and the CBC’s Top 40 Manitobans under 40 for 2015. She has a 2017 TEDx talk called The Journey to a Woman's Identity.
Jessica’s volunteer contributions have gained her wide respect across Manitoba. She has served as Chairperson for both the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and continues to sit on numerous committees and boards at the executive level. We are so thrilled to announce our next speaker, Carine Bado, Owner of Little Tribe Consulting. Carine's story is a magical one. One of how following her truth brought her to understand her power as an immigrant woman, and the possibilities when you just believe in yourself.
"Raised by serial entrepreneurs, Carine’s strong leadership and passion for Community was revealed at a young age. Originally from Ivory Coast, she migrated to Canada in 2007 and completed her Bachelor in Business Administration. With over eight years of experience in providing strategic and innovative counsel, based on financial data-driven insights. She has held previous positions as a Finance Officer at the World trade Centre Winnipeg and a Financial Analyst for CBC Radio Canada. She worked with different stakeholders and internal clients from various not for profit organizations in Winnipeg, before fully pivoting into Entrepreneurship as a Venture Coach for the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship Centre.
In 2020 amidst the pandemic, she opened her own practice Little Tribe Consulting, providing underrepresented groups such as women & black women with the tools to understand their business’s financials. She also manages Kecara, a co-owned e-commerce company that specializes in the making and retailing of natural body butters. At last, Carine is a singer & songwriter and the Founder of a social enterprise start-up in the Childcare Care & Recreational industry currently in the development phase.
She is a mom to one, and understands the challenges that many encounter in their journey, which led her to actively be involved within the Business Ecosystem to connect “the dots” and guide others. From Business plan writing to Cost Analysis and some Arts in between, Carine is a creative problem- solver and uses her expertise to help aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners and any individual that crosses her path, thrive and succeed."

In late 2018, Sherry & Nancy began a venture to create an entrepreneurial community that would help to shape the female business owner's journey. Experienced business owners ourselves, we found we were lacking a community of like minded individuals who have walked the same path, and who could help us to find the right resources to avoid some of the same hurdles and mistakes we made.
In 2019, we held the inaugural Made To Grow Event. The connections made were tremendous and surprised even Sherry & I. We were humbled, and we knew we were on to something that was needed in the women owned business community.
So this little community has grow to 62 members and counting. A yearly event that brings hope, skill and magic to our businesses. A place for those who hope to grow, who need support, kindness and connection. We're here to be your sound board. To help you grow through workshops and mentoring.
On March 7th, 2022, we are holding our 3rd Annual Made To Grow event. Sherry & Nancy will share how this community has shaped our ability to grow, excel and learn to dream in a way we never thought possible.
